CAN 225 retains North American Title

The last racing day of the 2024 North American Championship had all teams sailing out to the racecourse with big expectations, three races were scheduled to start at 1000hs, the wind was light from the west. No racing at the third day of the North American Championship

Initially the teams were greeted by PROs Russ Sobota and Barbara Vosbury with a nice AP and pennant number 2 delaying the starting time two hours. After the waiting time, boats sailed slowly to the racecourse, against a nice current flowing out to the sea. After bobbing for a few hours November / Alpha was rised and boats sailed slowly with the current to the harbour. A cold and rainy day, an early start scheduled for 11am, a nice breeze from the East with oscillations and big intensity variations from 10 to 16 knots which required full hiking almost the whole racing. North American Championship underway

Severn Sailing Association in Annapolis through their Soling fleet: Andy, Karin, Joes, John, Jono, Lee, Ian, LeAnn, Ted and Henry that also happens to be the president of the United States Soling Association has done a wonderful job planning, and now executing al procedures to start the first class continental of the year. Weekend training in Norway at Grimstad

The weekend of May 4th-5th saw 10 Soling from Bergen on the west coast to Tønsberg just across the Oslofjord from Hankø gather in Grimstad for a Tune Up Weekend. Grimstad is one of those cozy south coast small villages in Norway, not far from Arendal who held the 2007 Soling EC. Big swell at the US Championship CAN 225 wins

Mission Bay Yacht Club based in San Diego, hosted a successful US Championship, mainly put together by Pam and John Walton, club members and Soling lovers. 11 teams, 9 from the US, one Canadian and another one mixed showed up on Friday 27 to face the first three races of 8 scheduled at the Pacific Ocean, the West coast sailors used to the conditions of a really nice wind 12 knots reaching occasionally 18 knots at the gust and an incredible swell showed the visitors how it is done.  ...  read more
